He was named UEFA club defender of the 2005, 2008 and 2009 which is a record. PFA players' player of the year in 2005, he is actually the last defender to win the accolade. He was included in the the FIFPro World XI for five consecutive seasons, from 2005 to 2009. He was also named in the all-star squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the only English player to make the team. He is Chelsea's most successful captain, having led them to three Premier League titles, four FA Cups two League Cups and a UEFA Champions League since 2004. He was compared to eiltes like Paolo Maldini and Nesta in his prime! He wears the number 26 jersey!
